Virginia Rockwell is a ‘down-to-earth insider’ from
the world of Human Resources. She has been a high volume Interviewer,
Executive Recruiter and Human Resources Generalist for more than
10 years. During her tenure, Virginia has applied her expertise
to numerous industries including: Retail Operations, Teleservices,
Accounting & Finance, Financial Planning Services, Information
Technology (IT), Instructional Design, Healthcare, Sales and Manufacturing
to name a few. She has consistently been recognized for her “tells
it like it is” approach in providing Human Resources support.
This professional yet candid style, combined with her highly intuitive
‘gut instinct’, has proven to be a very successful
combination to her clients.
Virginia Rockwell
has expertly applied her Human Resources Generalist background
to meet the needs of both non-profit as well as for-profit organizations.
She is committed to providing businesses with the tools necessary
to be more effective in Researching*, Recruiting* and Retaining*
valued employees.
Ms. Rockwell’s
philosophy is the same as that of Stephen Covey’s…..
“Begin with the end in mind.” Virginia applies this
philosophy by emphasizing the importance of taking the time to
select “S.T.A.R.”* employees. Additionally, she encourages
companies to invest the necessary resources to train and retain
these valued employees.
As a skilled Trainer/Presenter,
Virginia’s style is comfortable, yet highly professional.
She is at ease in all types of settings and with audiences ranging
from small to large. In reference to a past training presentation,
a client stated, “The practical and professional delivery
of Ms. Virginia Rockwell provided a strong learning experience
for our people.”
Virginia Rockwell
received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management
from the PANAMA branch of Nova Southeastern University. She had
the unique opportunity to complete her degree in the country of
Panama. This allowed her to not only excel in the classroom, but
also granted her the opportunity to obtain valuable management
experience through “hands on” diversity training.
As a result of her
outstanding Human Resources abilities, Virginia Rockwell was hand
selected to be the liaison between a European Retail Operation
(European Stars & Stripes Bookstores) and a Military Retail
Operation (AAFES). This occurred within the country of Panama
during a government-mandated transfer of ownership. In this key
position, Virginia was responsible for transferring millions of
dollars in merchandise and was persistent in locating new employment
for more than twenty employees.
After 10 years in
Human Resources and Recruiting, Virginia Rockwell launched her
own business; ROCK SOLID RESOURCES. Her business focuses on providing:
*Customized Recruiting
and Selection Processes
*Improving Employee Performance
*Employee/Management Training On Human Resources Topics
*Creation or Customization of Policies & Procedures
*Career Coaching; Entry Level To Executive Level
People often comment
about the company name, ROCK SOLID RESOURCES, and ask about its
origin. Virginia Rockwell enjoys sharing with others the (3) components
that signify the creation of the business name. First, ROCK is
part of ROCKWELL, her last name. Second, the name represents her
strong, personal faith in God who is “Solid as a ROCK.”
(Psalm 18:2) Finally, is a humorous reference said by her son
Chaney, “Mom, you ROCK!”
Ms.
Virginia Rockwell is very committed to sharing her time, energy
and talents within her local community and beyond. Virginia was
the first President in the history of the Executive Women of Westmoreland
(EWW) to be asked to serve 2 consecutive terms as President. Virginia
continues to be an active supporter of EWW, a division of the
National Association of Female Executives (NAFE). EWW is a networking
association compromised of professional businesswomen. In addition,
Virginia is active in her local community by serving as a volunteer
and has served on the Board of Directors for The American Cancer
Society, Westmoreland Chapter. Her community involvement extends
to her active participation and support of the following non profit
associations: Susan G. Komen Foundation/Race For The Cure, St.
Jude Children’s Hospital and The Mental Health Association
of Westmoreland County.
In 2003, Virginia
Rockwell was presented with the “Volunteer of the Year Award”
for the Southwest Pennsylvania region of The American Cancer Society.
In just a few years of volunteer service, Virginia has helped
to launch a new fundraiser called “Monte Carlo”, she
has become a “Reach To Recovery” Volunteer, and has
also been actively involved in advocacy issues at the Pennsylvania
State Capital. Virginia considers it an honor and a privilege
to be able to provide support and encouragement to those whose
lives have been impacted by cancer.

Psalm
18:2 The Lord is my ROCK, my fortress and my deliverer; my God
is my ROCK, in whom I take refuge.
He
is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
